366 Days with J. Jonah Jameson, Day 107: Stop Me Before I ¢#@% Again

Admittedly I'm just a little six-year-old stuffed bull who doesn't know many cusswords beyond "darn" and "jeepers," but can you solve the Madlibbian mystery of just what the Sam Scratch is the swear that Jonah is saying here? Seems like any curse you could sub in there just winds up being even more bizarre.

Panels from Marvel Team-Up (1972 series) #139 (March 1984), script by Cary Burkett, pencils by Brian Postman, inks by Mike Esposito, colors by George Roussos, letters by Diana Albers

Me, I think Jonah is saying "pudding."

I'm probably a fool to try to answer this question seriously, but...

Two guesses: (1) It's a stand-in for "kick your a**" (2) It's supposed to indicate that Jonah breaks down into unintelligible ranting.

...pudding with nuts in it, obviously!

In those days the Comics Code was so strict you couldn't even say "plotz".
